Sports Injury
Sports injuries can affect anyone, from occasional exercisers to competitive athletes. Sprains, strains, muscle injuries and joint problems can make it difficult to continue the activities you enjoy. Appropriate assessment and rehabilitation can help you understand your injury and identify the right steps towards recovery.
At Nova, we provide personalised physiotherapy for sports-related injuries, taking into account your injury, activity level and goals. Whether you’re looking to return to training, get back to recreational sport or simply move more comfortably, we create a rehabilitation approach based on your individual needs and current level of function.
How We Treat Sport Injuries
We begin by assessing your injury, movement, strength and functional abilities. We also discuss how the injury happened, your current activity levels and what you want to return to.
Your treatment may include manual therapy, soft tissue techniques, therapeutic exercises, mobility work and progressive strengthening. Where appropriate, we can also use electrotherapy or ultrasound therapy as part of your treatment. As your rehabilitation progresses, exercises can be adapted to gradually prepare you for the movements and demands of your usual activities or sport.
